Franklin County Title Company was incorporated in the fall of 1970 and issued its first title evidence in 1971. Lloyd J. Wurdack was appointed President on January 2, 1975. Lloyd and his wife Dolores acquired all the interest in the company in 1979. Lloyd received his training from his father Roy A. Wurdack, who was hired in 1924 by St. Paul Title Insurance Company. Roy Wurdack started his own title company in 1946 in downtown St. Louis as Wurdack Title Company. 
 

Lloyd J. Wurdack worked during the summer months while still in high school. After graduating from high school and completing his military service in 1956, Lloyd began to work full time in the title industry. Wurdack Title Company’s named was changed in 1958 to American Title Company of St. Louis. The St. Louis company  was then purchased by American Title Company of Miami, Florida.
 

Lloyd J. Wurdack was appointed Vice President for the national title insurance underwriter and was responsible for the St. Louis area as well as seven Midwestern states. Lloyd was then transferred to the home office in Miami.  Currently, Lloyd's sons Richard, Donald, John and Tom are preparing to continue the tradition of the Wurdack name in the title business.
